Padrón

Nicaragua · est. 1964 · Padrón Cigars

José Orlando Padrón left Cuba in 1961 and started making cigars in Miami in 1964 on a $600 loan, selling them for a nickel. Everything Padrón makes is a Nicaraguan puro, nearly all of it box-pressed, and every band has carried a date since 2003 because counterfeiting the 1964 Anniversary had become worth someone's trouble. The 1964 series arrived in 1994 and the 1926 in 2002; the family still runs the company from Miami.
